I hope not, we are still rebuilding. I think if they fired everyone for that it would signal to the league that Flames ownership has zero patience and can't stomach a true re-build. It would also make me think that the Flames are destined to be perpetually mediocre.
The fans collective attitude (mine included at times) and over inflated expectations are far more exhausting than the team's play this year. It was always going to be 50/50 at best to make the playoffs and only because the division is a tire fire. On paper, this team is 15th-20th in the league IMO. An overachieving year maybe gets them to the dance, and a underachieving year lands them in the bottom 5-7. It's just reality, and new management isn't going to magically change that in time for next season.
I've been as frustrated by the team as anyone but I'm just trying to continually remind myself of the facts in the previous paragraph. The Flames need everything to go right to make the playoffs and so far that isn't happening. For me, I think the team's dismal performance over the last 25 years is starting to blend into the current team and fuel my negative attitude, and that's not fair to the current team and management. I suspect many others are in the same boat, and it's hardly fair or rational but it is what it is.
