Yeah, I could have sworn during the early 2000's there was lots of talk of not wanting to be like American law enforcement, and how CPS was trying (and other Canadian agencies) to take a much more customer service, European approach to law enforcement, and stay away from the militaristic style.
Now it seems over the years we switched gears and just went the American route, with heavily armed, intimidating presence.
