When I was a teen I had braces for almost 5 years. 2 days after I got them off, I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled. To this day, it remains the most excruciatingly painful experience of my life.
I remember waking up from the surgery face down on the operating table. No one else was in the room. I started removing all the chords attached to me and finally someone came in. My Dad then drove me home and I remember pretty much bleeding nonstop for days on end. I'd wake up in pools of blood in so much pain. All my painkillers were used up really quickly.
When the bleeding finally stopped, the skin of my face had turned yellow and I had 2 big black eyes. They had to break my jaw in 2 places to get to my wisdom teeth so my cheeks had big black/blue bruises all along them. Had to go to school and work and I looked like I'd gotten beaten up over and over again.
My experience is probably more on the extreme end, but to this day it's the worst pain I've ever been in and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Actually, that's not true. If I had a worst enemy, having their wisdom teeth removed and to go through what I did would be exactly what I'd wish on them.
