Best costume I had was a little girl who was about 3. She had rollers in her hair, wearing a robe with teddy bear cats pinned to it. She first came up to the door and sang the trick or treat, smell my feet song which was awesome. I then asked what she was and she said she was a crazy cat lady. I was laughing so hard.
I wound up giving her a bag of chips, a full bar of laffy taffy, a few suckers and a can of garbage can candy.
