The New York Islanders are proud to announce today that we have acquired defenseman Dustin Byfuglien from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Jakub Voracek. We feel this move will help to shore up our defence in the injury absence of Zach Bogosian, and that we are dealing from an area of depth.

Islanders acquire:
D. Byfuglien (82)

Sharks acquire:
J. Voracek (77)
