The offense was off last night, but limiting the Caps to one goal on a total breakdown and another on a perfect PP play is a good sign. This system should keep the Flames in most games.
Now just to fix the zone entries. Too much dump and chase, and more to the point, too much dump and chase where the puck wasn't placed to actually retrieve it.
Gio flubbed the pass at the end, and I'm not sure it was a great choice to go back to that man (Gaudreau?) even if he hadn't, but you can't pin the loss on that play. People need to relax and stop jumping all over our players for mistakes that could happen to anyone. That was a respectable effort against a top team, especially for a team still working out the kinks and whose top players are still a bit off.
