Well he must be doing something right to be on the ice for more goals than against and to lead the team in being on the ice for more goals than against so yes it does tell me something.
It's not like he's playing on a stacked team that scores a lot of goals and gives up few goals. I might agree with you in that situation it wouldn't mean as much but when you've given up as many goals as the Flames have and are getting top 4 minutes and you're on the ice for more goals than against then yes I'd say he's doing a great job. If he couldn't skate he'd be exposed so far which he hasn't been.
