Looks like it is about 99.9% certain we are getting a Canadian in F1 next year. Reports are he will be announced on Nov 3.

European F3 champion Stroll turns 18 on Saturday, with Williams having put off announcing the Canadian as its race driver until after his birthday so as to avoid any possible issues with title sponsor Martini.

I don't even care that he's rather unpopular in the race community due to his reckless driving and the fact that he's a pay driver. I think it is awesome to have a canadian on board. Here's hoping Williams can produce a competitive 2017 car.
