The problem is once you send him down you basically waste those other 4 games and can't bring him back up until after the OHL season. Even sitting in the box he is getting trained and getting a good view of the game. If the Flames can play tonight the way they did last night (win or lose) I would expect to see him slot in this weekend.
A couple of missed games isn't going to hurt him and if after he finishes his 9 he isn't ready he still goes back down for 75% of the season with some NHL seasoning. And if he stays up they could still send him to the WJC if they think it will help him.
