I think Cartman's payoff is either that he's done the whole thing as a fake, and it's going to be for a hilariously petty reason, or he'll turn back to his old self for a hilariously petty reason.

There's a ton of ways they can play it, but that's what I see happening. Or I guess maybe he takes the blame for Kyle's dad since everyone suspected him in the first place?

I don't even care, I'm just finding it all hilarious.
