I really don't know why you have such issue with this.
Its not as though the Flames are at the Saddledome at the same time the Stamps are at McMahon and Calgarians had to choose between the two. They can now watch both back to back
IMO, this is actually beautifully scheduled as when the Stamps game finish, the Flames game is just beginning so Calgarians could easily flip the channel from TSN to Sportsnet.
If King did intended to do that, he's worked that out very well and isnt oblivious as you make him out to be
