We know the man is process driven ... which means this wasn't a scan hockeydb and make a decision. We can probably assume (actually we've heard) that there was a pretty in depth process with systems and what ifs that helped them arrive at what they want behind the bench.

Burke doesn't know him, so that panic cycle can be skipped this time around. And even if he did we've seen enough hints lately that Treliving is going his way and not Burke's now.

So then what are we left with?

1. The process failed and they hired a dud
2. Treliving himself is a dud as he got the right guy with the wrong system.
3. It's one game
To add to this, we know a couple things they were looking for in a coach from the reasons they gave for canning Bob. Possession system, aggressive without puck... yes, we saw a bit of that. But the big one is the ability to make adjustments, and that to me is the biggest reason this team is Bob-less. He simply did not adapt last year. Assuming this is a thing that was high on their list of required coaching qualifications, we should see those adjustments. I get that there's a balance of learning a new system and abandoning it in its infancy because it didn't work. The D's gotta change though. Surely this much is obvious.
