The overreactions here after 1 game are quite amusing. I honestly enjoy reading it. One game.

Having said that, breaking up Brodano is a big no no. I can certainly understand the theory behind it. And I know it's only 1 game in. Some people say it's not good to put all your eggs in 1 basket. I've never bought into that. If it works, it works and you don't mess with it. Breaking up that pairing has been attempted in the past. And it never works. Leave them together and never touch them again.

I'm not sure why Kevin wasn't playing. Hopefully he slots in next game. Push Wideman down to the 3rd pairing where he belongs. Elliot sucked balls. But I'm not too worried about him. He'll rebound and take this team on a hot streak. But I think he will also quickly learn that this team isn't anywhere close to the Blues so he's going to have to be extra sharp.

And for all the hate McDavid gets around here, I don't think anybody can deny that he is going to be/already is an elite talent. Sure he skates super fast and sometimes bobbles the puck and goes crashing into the boards. But one day very soon, he's going to put it all together and be damn near unstoppable. I enjoy watching elite hockey talent like him. It just blows chunks that he's with the Oilers and we are going to have to watch him have games like that vs the Flames consistently.

It's only game 1 and a loss was predictable. Make some adjustments. Fix the D pairings. Keep up the good work on special teams. Win the cup. Easy.
