Well the fact that 3 of the Chiefs first 4 possessions ended in 3 and outs had nothing to do with them losing that game? You don't think teams were trying to stack up on the run against the Chiefs last year after Johnson had rushed for like 4 straight 100 yard games?
Last year the Chiefs offensive line was healthy in the second half, and they could move the ball at will against anyone. When they got that part of their game going, Trent Green starting throwing for 300 yards and tossing TD passes. Something he didn't do in the first half of last year. This year that line isn't what it was at the end of last year and teams can stack up on the run and stop the Chiefs dead in their tracks. Without top end wide receivers Damon Huard is hard pressed to go out and beat other NFL teams, and to be fair I don't think any other QB would fair a lot better.
On defence they are better this year, but they still don't get much of a push up the middle with the tackles, and their tackling still is a bit short of impressive.
Yesterday was a tough game because Pittsburgh had to be stewing and had something to prove. But the Chiefs weren't even close in that game. Will have to see if they can rebound against the Seahawks on Sunday.
