Crosby is on a really good contract considering his production and what he brings to the team and franchise. I'd hope Johnny would see this. He will have all American hockey fans watching him. Much like Kane.

The AAV of the contract is good but it is only because of the back diving at the end. His contract was one of the last ones signed before the new CBA which disallowed this.
Here is the year-by-year breakdown of Sidney Crosby's contract extension with the Pittsburgh Penguins:
- 2013-14 — $12 million
- 2014-15 — $12 million
- 2015-16 — $12 million
- 2016-17 — $10.9 million
- 2017-18 — $10.9 million
- 2018-19 — $10 million
- 2019-20 — $9 million
- 2020-21 — $9.6 million
- 2021-22 — $9 million
- 2022-23 — $3 million
- 2023-24 — $3 million
- 2024-25 — $3 million
So if you get rid of the last 3 years, or add the $9 million to the first 9 years his AAV is over $11.5 million. He is paid at the top of the market as he should be.
