He's a professional hockey player, so assuming he's been even remotely smart with his money, he's set for life already. But you have to think he's still interested in getting as big of a payday as possible next year.
Also, I'd rather move my family for a year at the start of the school year, rather than either uproot them in late February or be separated from them for two months.

I think Wideman knows he's not getting another big payday, no matter where he's traded. I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't in the league next season.
