I guess Manfred was specifically talking about alcohol. Still, I don't think you can leave it in the hands of people to do the right thing, especially drunk people. If every other team can serve alcohol in plastic cups, i'm not sure why the Jays can't. |
Not only did the Devil Rays not serve drinks in cans, but they wouldn't even offer a lid for the cups because - and I quote - "a terrorist could use it to slice your throat". On the one hand, the kid probably made that up. On the other, this was 2004, and the US was still deeply paranoid after 9/11. Moreso even than today.
