I was curious so I actually went back and timed it.
After he says game over as the ball landed, no one said a word for over a minute. A MINUTE!! Could you imagine most self obsessed PBP losers who think they are the broadcast just letting over a minute tick by without speaking?
Yet as a fan I loved it. We got to experience all the elation and celebration with the crowd as it happened. Plenty of time for breakdown and commentary after.
