It happens all the time, but when the hitter doesn't adjust, a bunch of armchair experts go "oh well he's 200lbs! how can he possibly react!?"

Gudas reacts the same way every time, no matter who he's clipping in the head, hitting late, or charging. "What did I do?"

The guy is a goon. He's a scummy player. This isn't the worst hit he's ever made, not even close, but it's just another questionable hit in a long line from a guy with a history of disregarding the safety of others.

Players with a long history of dirty plays get zero benefit of the doubt.
Probably because his coach tells him to play his game, which is hitting and hitting hard...

What the hell is he supposed to do in this 1 split second decision? He could probably avoid the hit all together and allow Vesey to make whatever kind of play he wants wide open in the offensive zone? A hit that he should avoid because the other player put himself in a vulnerable position? Yeah that will go over well with his coach.

Also, according to Dreger, the Department of Player Safety didn't see that it broke any rules in the rulebook and there will be no supplemental discipline.

So, theres that...
