Sorry, what I meant was that they take a break in order to play a tournament (Olympics) that the NHL doesn't receive income from. I recognize that they still play an 82 game season. I think I worded that poorly.
Although, Mike F's article said the NHL makes at least some money from Olympic hockey. Although I can't imagine it's as much as they made in the World Cup since they would have to split the revenue.
