Would have been a beautiful open ice hit if he came in lower.

I love huge hits but in todays NHL you can't drive through that high, even if the guy put himself in a vulnerable spot. Not sure I agree completely or not, but looks like a illegal check to the head either way.

All I know for sure is if that was a Flame I'd be livid at the hit
