With the Flames lack of options on the right side, having someone that is a responsible defensive center on the wing may allow for some flexibility. You obviously wouldn't keep him there beyond this season, but having Jankowski available on the RW, would allow the Flames to throw a guy like Frolik on the first line and have him partnered with Backlund instead. The Flames did that with Bennett for most of his rookie year. Additionally, if there are center injuries, you can just shift Janko over. I think he is NHL ready.

Our center depth is weak. He should get as much time there as possible and prepare to play that role in the future. He's already thinking pass first and 200ft. If there isn't a Center role for him in the NHL, put him on the first line in Stockton for a season. I don't think he'd suffer from either route. But he should stick to Center. He's built to be one too.
