That's essentially untrue...

Seabrook, Carter, Getzlaf, Crosby, and Mike Richards were on the 2004 team, however all of those players were also on the 2005 team that won gold, i.e. were part of the generation of winning. Other than those players...

The 2002 Olympic team had 2 players from the 98-04 World Junior generation - Simon Gagner and Eric Brewer;

The 2010 Olympic Team had 4 players from that generation - Fleury, Heatley, Luongo, and Nash.

The 2014 Olympic team had 4 players from that generation - Nash, Bouwmeester, Luongo, and Hamhuis.

Not exactly a significant contribution to Canada's dominance.
