I love how many people are definitely, positively sure the hit was clean/dirty/to the shoulders/to the head/etc.
I've watched the video multiple times on YouTube, slowed it down to x1/4 speed and I still don't know anything conclusive. The video isn't the greatest quality and the angle isn't the best either.
I'm sure the players on the ice had a much better perspective, although even they could have been caught up in the play rather than the hit.
Whether it was clean or dirty, the one thing I'll say is that I have no problem with Ryan going after Sieloff. However, that probably should have been the end of it (physically). There was no reason for Neil to continue the aggressive behaviour.
Even if Sieloff intentionally targeted MacArthur's head and left the ice, Neil (or preferably one of the coaching staff) should have had words with him instead. "I get you're trying to make a statement about your role, but cool it kid."
Ryan fighting, then Neil fighting, then Donovan telling him to leave practice... all that's going to do is make Sieloff feel defensive and cause a huge rift between him and the team at a time when you should be pulling together.
