If a server has 5 tables in their section and an average bill total of $100 means she's bringing in $75 an hour at15% tips. This peak time is only say 2 hrs long and the other 2 hrs on shift are half with let's say a 7.5% tip out.
So 225/2 = $112 in tips. So a $5 increase in minimum wage over 4 hours increases base income buy about $20.
So you can reduce your tip by 10% roughly if you want servers compensated at the same rate. Now it will be interesting if tip out also drops as a result which would mean a 20% reduction in tipping.
So if you tip 20% now tip 16%. If you tip 15% tip 12%
