It truly speaks to the stupidity of some of the American players when they view this as some type of shot against them; anyone with half a brain realizes this is a jab at management for leaving him off the team. He's sitting at home, watching his buddies lose and probably wishes he was there battling along side them. When you look at Canada and Sweden, was the U.S. likely to win anyway? Probably not. But why would you revisit a roster structure you've tried already that yielded terrible results? Kessel was the lone bright spot in Sochi for them, I think he can tweet about whatever the hell he wants at this point. What does he have to lose? Risk being left off another 'grit' roster in an Olympics that most likely won't even occur from an NHL standpoint?

Completely agree. Kessel was the top American player in the playoffs and deserves to be upset about not getting picked.
If he was a fringe player then the comments would have been stupid and the American team reaction warranted.
