I took this as a reaction to the cap situation based on the fact that Smid is forced onto LTIR.
In that way it's like yelling "Yes!" when you find out your grandma died because she left you a fat inheritance. Yeah... I get you're not actually cheering for the death of your grandma, but there's a time and a place man.
Edit: More on topic, I know Smid is married, but does anyone know where his wife is from? I feel like I've heard somewhere that she's an Alberta local? If so, I would imagine he might be more interested in sticking around North America rather than heading home to scout/coach in Europe somewhere.
