Wouldn't the definition of a PPG player be a player who scores as many or more points as the number of games he played? Current active players who are PPG? That's your list. You could, I suppose find exceptions where a guy played hurt in a year, or we ignore a bad year or two over a long period and say "but for that year, he's a PPG guy". But where a guy has only two years, is at .89 PPG, no, he's not a "PPG player". He's obviously really good.
Last year there were 8, ignoring one game wonders. Gaudreau wasn't one of them. But the bigger point is that you want to take one year and make it out to be what he will do for the next 8. I hope it's true. But I think there's risk and for that reason , plus the CBA RFA provisions, plus the cap, he should make less that that highest possibility.
