I don't think this stalemate is about money. I think the market is pretty much set for him. 7.25 - 7.5M.

All he had to do was not sign in Calgary when he did and he would have been a UFA in a year and sign where ever he pleased.
So dumb to suggest that he is anymore or less close to his family than every other guy in the league or that he wants to play near home more than anyone else.
