Yes, that's what they said at the trials today.
I got to go on two "flights" at the trials. They were both to the States, so I didn't get to see the international departures area, but the new US terminal is a massive improvement over what we have now. A big food court (Burger King, a Sushi place, Spolumbo's, Thai Express, and one other place I can't remember right now), and a couple other sit-down restaurants and bars. A big Tim Hortons and Starbucks too.
There are a bunch of shops in the departure area too. The Hudson's looked like it was already fully stocked except for the magazines and food items. Those stores must just pop up fully formed inside every airport in the world.
They're doing like a lot of airports now where your gate doesn't get assigned until about 15 minutes before boarding, so most of the seating is in a central area, with very little seating at the gates.
Unfortunately, there's still quite a bit of walking from the gates to Customs, but at least there will be moving sidewalks for the far gates.
There are a lot of automated kiosks for going through Customs, then just a quick check of your information as you leave. That should speed things up quite a bit. I had a hell of a time using the passport scanners, but hopefully that was because of the stuff they gave us and they'll work better with real passports.
They're still doing a lot of finishing work, but the terminal is bright and open and easy to get around.
