I think that's the point. I'm not sure there is a problem with eating animals, as long as they didn't live a poor or cruel life. Which is why I boycott many fast food chains including KFC.
Many of our meat industry practices can and should become more friendly towards the animals. Also people should rememeber that animal flesh is a treat or a side, not a staple. Not saying we have to stop eating meat (nor do I think it's healthy to completely eliminate it from most people diets) but we could all probably eat a lot less.
I have no qualms about hunting and eating animals, but for gods sake, do it as humanely as possible. I completely support the humane animal hunter who uses the whole animal. That animal lived a better life than those in the pen, and probably died a better death. We will all live and we will all die, some of us in a lot of pain. As long as it's not being purposely inflicted against us, then that's just life. We all die to feed another species.
Hunting for sport or in these extreme cases, masochist pleasure, is obviously a heinous crime.
