This doesn't necessarily surpirse me. I've always thought LEO vetting was a complete joke. A few guys I went to school with that became cops were absolute bullies. Not the "My dad was a mean SOB and I'm lashing out." type. But the "I just love hurting and humiliating other people, and get off on it." type. Dudes that were simply not fit to be telling anyone what to do, let alone enforcing any sort of laws.
I'm sure a lot of people get into it for the altruistic reasons, but you're absolutely kidding yourself if you don't think a massive portion of them aren't doing it simply for the power trip to pacify their twisted ego's.
