So hes not really retiring and this is much ado about nothing. Ference has been medically done for a while now.
In terms of his character I find it really strange, I really like him on Calgary and Boston, I couldnt have been happier when he won the Cup (at Vancouver's expense no less!!) but I really soured on him because of his actions and attitude as an Oiler.
It was like he assumed all of the worst qualities associated with the Oilers. I knew he mired in the quagmired morass of the Oil, but he sunk down to their level and made it seem like this was okay.
It sucks that it has to end this way for him.
