I get what you're saying but I'm not sure I trust the Flames scouting more than anyone else's in general. It's come a long way, and Gaudreau and Brodie have bought tons of goodwill, but I'm still uncomfortable with any exchange of 1sts for Gaudreau under any circumstances. The odds of getting another Gaudreau are slim. Realistically you're looking at a bust or two, a depth guy and maybe one 'star'. I'd rather just keep Gaudreau or trade him than lose him for that uncertainty. A package of Provorov+Schenn would be better than four 1sts imo... and I don't think Provorov+Schenn is enough for Gaudreau.
