That is completely different from being
indescribably shocked if he produces at a pace he's already exceeded.
Is it possible he's unable to reproduce that pace over an entire season? Yes.
Is it possible he's able to reproduce that pace over an entire season? Yes.
Is it possible he's able to produce 80% of that pace over an entire season? Yes and it should not be a shock.
