That's the thing though - Brees aside, they HAVE blown it up. I believe they were the youngest team in the league last year, and featured by far the most 1st and 2nd year players on a roster in the league. It's the quietest blowup ever, they have a very young roster.
There's a lot to like with the youth, even on D. Just leaving only 4 CBs on the roster after cutting Lewis in TC - with Breaux being the only one with any NFL experience-who had 1 year of experience - was clearly going to blow up in their faces. Especially now with Breaux out 6 weeks. Just keep going with the rebuild and stop swinging for the fences on these big name UFAs, it always blows up in their face.
Edit: Nevermind, they weren't close to the youngest. Most 1st and 2nd year players on the roster in the league by far, that's what it was. Either way, they're a much younger team than people realize methinks.
