How much did they spend on pitching last year relative to this year (honest question - I have no idea).
Price was only on the team at the deadline so it isn't like they removed his entire annual salary.
I think they made very shrewd moves with the rotation and generally it worked. I think making a pen is always tough - seems like you just need to piece guys together until you find something that works.
You need a solid closer, which they have, and then you need to figure the rest out. I think going out there and throwing a lot money at a pen can hurt you as much as help you.
