If there is any "human garbage" involved it is those who intentionally use the fears of these people to garner political support for an agenda that will actually do them the most harm. We used to be a society that appreciated our elders and respected all they did for us. We would never take advantage of them and abuse them in any way. They protected us as children and it was part of our responsibility to protect them as they aged and were unable to fend for themselves. Those that take advantage of the less fortunate or use someone's situation against them are the worst humanity has to offer. That is where Donald Trump fits. His supporters, for the most part, are misguided. But Donald Trump is a 6'2 pile of orange human excrement, because he knowingly takes advantage of people when they are most vulnerable. We, as a society, are better than that, and we have to protect each other from the predators.

This certainly applies to my mother in law and many of her friends. They seem like nice people, just lost and stubborn in their ways. To them, it's also about cheering for their favorite team.
My father in law, on the other hand, is pretty despicable, IMO. Some of the vile stuff that comes out of his mouth and a lot of his actions are extremely rude, sometimes disturbing and fked up.
