Who knows who went the media route, but when one side is using contrived deadlines and amateurish social media PR spinning, going to the media certainly wouldn't be surprising.
I would be surprised if it was Treliving, based on his history, however I think it is more beneficial for him if these details get released. So it is possible.
Or maybe it really was 3rd parties that Francis talked to, as was claimed. That actually seems quite plausible.
