I believe Treliving is learning a hard lesson in regards to giving Giordano that big contract a year earlier than he had to. 12 months later a lot of things have changed and I simply don't know how he's going to be able to work around that 6 year deal when in a few years we are revisiting this scenario with the Bennett, Tkachuk, and any other Flames prospects that meet or exceed expectations going into RFA negotiations. Johnny's contract situation is a lot more difficult than the average fan realizes as Treliving is trying to balance things so he's not restricted in being able to retain future RFA's.
