The Saddledome is kind of a dump, and it needs replacing for the modern age. Fine. Everyone can agree on that.
Build a new building on the Stampede Grounds. Maybe spend ten million or twenty million redeveloping some of the grounds so that it's not a total cluster#### to get out of. Enclose the entire tunnel to the C-Train. Or make sure there's an underground route directly to the new building.
Renovate McMahon.
Stop trying to play Sim City with real life.

Aside from the creosote issue, what's wrong with the West Village site in your opinion? It's easier to access from all major roadways running north-south (Crowchild Trail) and east-west (Bow Trail / 9th Avenue) than the Stampede site is, and it's directly accessible via LRT, bus, bike, and pedstrian pathway. There is a plan for underground parking, too.
From a transportation perspective, it's one of the very, very few available - and absolutely the most accessible - potential spaces in the urban core.
