Not true. Patrick Roy has said he liked white pads because it gave him an advantage.
Also Marc Andre Fleury was contacted by an optometrist when he used to wear yellow pads and after the conversation they said he switched to white pads.
A lot of goalies believe the theory that white pads make the shooter miss their shot more frequently.
