What should concern the rest of us is whether they are a risk to re-offend, and whether their sentences are appropriate, given their crimes. On the face of it, I consider three years a light sentence, but I expect the judge will have found mitigating factors i.e.: no prior convictions etc.

Family destroyed. Children alienated. Jobs lost. Criminal record. Jail time. Everyone they know probably turning their backs on them.
I don't know these people but I will go out on a limb and say yeah, pretty much ruined.
