The general consensus is that the QB needs to be the leader of the team and not take sides with anyone of any race or color so he's being divisive in the workplace. I simply believe that he shouldn't be using his place of work to be doing this and if I was a 49ers fan I would be upset that they have an off field issue to deal with.

In the big picture we are talking about a QB that is likely on his way out of the NFL anyway so he wanted to get his point across while in the limelight. In a few weeks this will fade away like his career but I hope the Kaepernick keeps busy in his private life promoting his cause if it means that much to him.
I am a 49ers fan. I wasn't a Kaep fan but I respect him more now that he has taken this stance. This is the most leadership he has shown. When Harbaugh ran the team, he was the leader. Kaepernick was always too quiet and never had the charisma people expect of an alpha QB. Kaepernick is a decent QB in the right situation but he will never be a rah-rah, rally the troops, dissect a secondary guy.

But yeah, he is pretty much done in SF. The team will look for a way to release him with the least mess possible. They are already leaking stories to national press to make the cut easier (which is how the owners work - undermine with leaks to make them look justified later. The Yorks are BAD owners).

I'm resigned to the fact that the team I cheered for since "The Catch" will be bad so long as they are owned by the Yorks. I had some hope when Jed took over but he is little better than his parents.
