Things I learned watching 20 minutes of this video (I’m sorry, I couldn’t take anymore).
Donald Trump has explicated his methodology of how he seals a deal in The Art of the Deal. The media don’t seem to understand this. Donald Trump is a media expert and he routinely “out medias the media.”
Donald Trump is always honest with the media and always tells the truth. He doesn’t lie, he just shifts the ground so his answers are always positive.
Trump plays to peoples desires and wishes using “truthful hyperbole,” which is an innocent form of exaggeration. Sure, just talk to those who were bilked out of their money by Trump University. “Truthful hyperbole” is a Frank Luntz term for bull####.
I didn’t know this, but Trump is a discipline of Mahatma Gandhi. Things you didn’t know. I also didn’t know that Donald J. Trump has been discussed as a potential Presidential candidate. Again, things you just didn’t know. You would think that a guy with such a long history of being a possible Presidential candidate would have done something – anything - to build up his qualifications.
Linguistic gymnastics is a requirement if you are a Trump supporter. Taking Donald Trump’s own words, verbatim, is unfair. You have to be able to read into what he’s saying and know he’s only speaking the truth. So when Donald Trump says Mexico is sending drug dealers, criminals and rapists to America, he means something different. He’s just using “truthful hyperbole” to make his point. Even when using Trump’s own direct quote they can stand there and say, “Not true.” Black and white don’t matter to these people unless it is the color of someone’s skin.
To be a true Trump supporter you must whole heartedly buy into cognitive bias and live in that bubble that a certain HBO comedian and panel moderator likes to refer to. Taking a Trump quote and then going out and finding information that might explain away the stupidity is fair game.
I also learned that Trump can unilaterally ignore or amend trade deals more to his liking. Trump is all powerful and he can do these things without possible blowback. I was unaware that publishing a policy paper made laws and trade deals disappear.
I wasn’t aware of this, but the Trump campaign has been publishing policy papers in support of all of Donald’s comments. It may be the naïve academic policy wonk in me, but I have yet to see a single formal policy paper on anything from Trump. A one paragraph comment on a web site doesn’t qualify as a policy paper on a complex issue, at least in the government bodies I have worked in. This revelation is wonderful and will reduce my workload substantially! I no longer have to develop and deliver real position papers, I can deliver policy paragraphs and spend the rest of the day at the golf course!
The hateful left doesn’t disagree with your position, they just cut your source of revenue. I was under the impression that businesses had every right to make sponsorship decisions to protect their brand should a possible sponsoree hold values that conflict with that brand’s values? Wrong again. It is just the hateful left, all those corporations who are well known leftists, that lash out at The Donald and attack his revenue stream. Bastards!
Donald Trump controls the economy, especially for retailers. After Macy’s dropped his clothing line, in January of 2016, Trump supporters boycotted Macy’s resulting in a 4.7% decrease in holiday sales. Donald Trump is so powerful that his boycott affected sales before the boycott even began! The reported sales decrease was for sales over the holiday season, which means 2015 sales. The boycott was called in late January of 2016, which is after the holiday sales period. Unless this guy is claiming that the 2016 holiday sales season is going to be off 4.7%? *Gasp* Trump supporters can also see into the future!
Has anyone noticed that Donald J. Trump seems to get a lot of support from former Europeans, who moved to the United States because they felt the system was rigged in their home countries? And when I say rigged, I mean had protections for the common man that prevented con men from taking advantage of them, or spreading nasty hate speech without consequence? You know, nutbars?
