If that tweet from Lawton is accurate, and they're only paying $1.1 million of Bolland's salary, there's very little money coming out of pocket for that $20 million in cap hit.

Bolland: $5.5M cap / $1.1M paid
Vermette: $1.25M cap/paid (rather than $3.75M for full contract)

The Coyotes are going to be team that will be really close to the Salary cap floor for the next several years. Using the above players to artificially add cap.
They have made interesting trades to acquire really decent prospects.
Problem is they could be a last placed team for a while.
