I'll be more interested/looking forward to the day the first woman gets hired as an NHL head coach, and when the first female head coach wins a Stanley Cup. I hope both happen sooner rather than later.

It would be great to see and have millions of little girls have such a high powered role model. The reality though is that I doubt it ever happens (unless someone wants to do it purely for becoming the "first" to do it).
Think about the hundreds or thousands of top tier coaches around the world who AREN'T in the NHL. They are all men. If I'm a GM of an NHL club, I'm going to be searching for the best coach available, full stop. The pool to choose from is all men.
Once women start becoming elite midget/junior coaches, and then eventually minor pro coaches, we won't see an NHL coach for a really really long time. The barriers to women start way earlier than the major pro level, because at the pro level, a GM don't care if you are black, gay, purple, female, trans or WASP, if you have the skills, you are in.
