This is a nice little bump. I love bragging about this little piece of Heaven.

If you're looking for a place along the Cabot Trail here are a few suggestions:

- Cabot Shores is the hotel attached to Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs golf courses. Cabot Cliffs is rated the top golf course in Canada, #19 in the world. The view is amazing.

- If that's a little pricey for you (it is for me) the Glenora Distillery has cabins, and not to mention whiskey.

- The Keltic Lodge is legendary, and just received a major renovation. It's the resort for the Highlands Links golf course, the top public course in the country.

- Ingonish Chalets are also nice and not as pricey as the rest. Friends of mine say there every year. Depending on our schedule we grab a cabin there too.

- If you're looking to stay in the Sydney area, Hampton Inn in Membertou is a great hotel, as is the Cambridge Suites on the waterfront.

If you didn't book your flights already, you should look into flying into Halifax and out of Sydney or vice-vera.

In terms of places to drink in Sydney: Breton Brewery is my favorite spot, but Governors and Old Triangle are also great places to grab a beer.

In Halifax, Dirty Nelly's, Lower Deck, Old Triangle are all great places to have a pint. Garrison Brewery is also fun.
