In all honesty, you will probably get a pretty decent mark in the class. I had him at UofC for Intro to IR and I showed up for the first day of class, and about a month and a half later I decided to stop in again - it just so happened to be the midterm!!! I wrote it, got a 75%, went to three other classes for the rest of the semester and ended up with an A- or something. That's what's good about him - you don't need his lectures.
But God, if you sit through one of his lectures, it can seem like an eternity! It was kind of funny because a few times he just started to lecture in a different language, and nobody said anything - probably because we were learning just about the same amount...
He's a decent guy outside the classroom, easy to approach and very forgiving and accepting of excuses
