CofR, as many have said already and I know you say it's no big deal but thank you for doing these everyday. It's definitely made following the Olympics for me more enjoyable. It's much appreciated and I hope you're back in 2018.
Last day of the Olympics. It's been an incredible 2 weeks for Canada. With Penny winning 4 medals as a 16 year old to De Grasse winning 3 medals on the track, 7pm has become must watch TV for me the past couple weeks.
All our athletes have been tremendous and I am really proud to be Canadian. It's weird because I'm not really an Olympics guy. I got into it in 2010 because it was in Canada but I can't remember watching any events in London or Sochi (outside of Hockey). To see our athletes do so well on the biggest stage and in the most popular events is really awesome.
I know we like to make fun of how we are the best country at getting Bronze or 4th place but as I tell my friends and family who say the same thing, the fact that a winter country of 35 million people can still place in the top 10 of overall medals is quite impressive and I'm proud of all our athletes.
I'm already thinking about going to Tokyo in 2020. With Penny and De Grasse in their prime, the swimming and track events should be really fun.
My vote is for Penny to be the flag bearer for the closing ceremonies. 16 years old and already has 4 medals. De Grasse can be the flag bearer for the opening ceremonies in 2020.
